Yogyakarta (ANTARA News) - Exhibition Jogja Fashion Week 2010 will present the fashion trends as national cultural icons, executive performances committee chairman Afif Syakur said .
"Jogja Fashion Week (JFW) is a showcase development of Indonesian arts and culture diversity with the potential to be reckoned with in the international community through the role of fashion designers and fashion manufacturers in Indonesia," he said in Yogyakarta on Friday.
According to him, fashion show held at the Jogja Expo Centre (JEC), Yogyakarta on 27-31 October 2010 to introduce and expand the market network of textile industry, garment, and fashion to the national and international businesses.
In addition, also to motivate and mengkatalisator beings to create a more intensive mode with a reference culture of Yogyakarta and socialize in the community for more love and proudly use domestic production.
He said the fashion show held for the fifth time it did not release the touch of striated, weaving, songket, and batik as an Indonesian cultural icon and is a step forward to continue to uplift and give strength Indonesia's position in international trade.
"Activities that will be followed by the designers of DIY and other Indonesian cities featuring creations which refers to the design of the life of the people of Yogyakarta are simple but elegant," he said.
The draft, according to him, is expected to bridge the fashion trends of Yogyakarta in national and international arena and continue to grow in the future.
"In JFW 2010 also will be held with the theme of the competition reserved for fashion ready-made clothing for the office of the nuances of Yogyakarta, a trade show to give opportunity to the manufacturers of clothing and accessories at the scale of industry and SMEs, and carnival fashion along the main street of Yogyakarta," he said.
